Ive been thinking about putting a rain light on my cage to act as a high level brake light. Reckon i can get brackets etc to fit the cage and hold the light however wondered about the cable and if this could be fed through a small hole in the bar so to conceal it. Is this recommended or should i just zip tie the cable to the bar?
I would run it down the outside. Length of wide black pvc tape might be the needest?

My old MAC 1 had a full cage.
On that it had a hole at the rear for the high level light and holes at the front section for wing mirrors.
Could not gaurentee it would not fall apart in a roll over. Just telling you what I have experienced.
Not sure but I think to check tube thickness in racing they are allow to drill a 3mm hole (I could be talking rubbish).. So I suspect you can. I am planing on doing the same (only have a roll bar not a full cage).. a 3mm hole might well be all that's needed..
there is no way I would drill a hole in a roll cage in order to make something look tidy.
roll cages ain't about looking tidy, they're about preventing death. crazy fool

drilling a hole without fully relieving it will also introduce stress points. You should also be drilling through T45 steel if it's the real thing. That is very tough stuff. I wouldn't even want to drill it
