I've used normal rattle-cans before to good effect but you are probably best with plastic specific paint.

You just need to use a plastic primer... I did parts on my last Scooby, and the paint took well, and gave a great finish.

What colour is he painting them? Most metallics now are a base coat with lacquer top coat to give them their shine. Plastic primer comes in aerosol cans for what little bit you need.

Painting them a basic red colour simple but just unsure as not painted before good place to start,

Thanks all again

Remove glass or mask off

Rub down with wet and dry going 800, 400, 200

Clean and allow to fully dry

Apply red primer, halfords own is fine for this

Allow to dry fully

Apply chosen red colour

Allow to dry fully

Apply lacquer

Allow to dry fully

Refit glass/remove masking tape
