If you just want ideas, why not just put 'Bonnet vents' into Google images? Simples.
Hi,
If you look at my photos you can see the vents I have cut in my bonnet.
Regards
Bob
Vents from CBS. I'm thinking of doing more to extend them towards the windscreen.
2 SIDVNTB mounted together on the top instead of on the sides as intended. Then painted BRG to match

I know you said on the top but mine on the side look rather good

Car 9
And if anything in the engine bay was to let go, rad hose, fuel hose even fire it would come out of the side rather than out the top and into my face
Made a stamper out of some scrap box, cut slots with a jig saw and got stamping
Got a bit carried away really
Bonnet louves
Here's mine - I have forgotten where I got it from! It used to cover the air filter for a down-draft weber carb.
The long one above the exhaust is CBS and comes in several sizes. This vent alone chucks soo much heat out its amazing. Passengers have said they can
feel it while driving slowly and I can see the heat haze from it on a baking hot day.
If your venting due to heat then this is a smart way to loose heat at slower speeds.
Here's mine Naca vents.

side vents look the best me thinks
My experience is that you need to pay more attention to getting hot air out than getting cool air in on the Locost. There is plenty of air coming in
via the main nosecone aperture and this is heated by both the radiator and engine block. I don't have any pictures handy but I went with two
pairs of vents towards the back of my bonnet, one pair on top and one pair at the sides. The side vents were inspired by the range rover bonnet side
vents as shown below with the size and lines adjusted to suit the lines of the bonnet and scuttle. I installed some aluminium mesh and painted it
black and installed some chrome V8 badges which looks pretty good.
On the top of the bonnet I created some cutouts from templates, again following the bonnet lines and I again installed some ally mesh. The mesh is the
pressed stuff and I have aligned it to work with the direction of travel so help scavenge air out rather than pull air in. If you can picture this
type of pressed mesh then you will know what I mean. If not then let me know and I'll try to explain better. I pressed the mesh through from
below so that it is flush with the bonnet surface rather than recessed. I've not painted it yet.
HTH,
Craig.
Thanks for your input about the vents please keep the ideas coming
