Thought i would chuck this out for some ideas probs going to hillclimb the road car as well next year problem is it has an aero screen and allthough blue book says winscreens are free 1 or 2 venues wont let you run an aeroscreen in road class any thoughts on how i could rigg up windsreen for those events
Cheers Ali

Can you not just run in the specialist sportscars class?

I'm doing some of the same research myself at the moment for my Westy and that looks like the class to run it in (until I get round to fitting a bike engine...)

Hi

I would wait a while - this subject is up for discussion I'm lead to believe, but we won't know for a while what the outcome is, should be before mid Nov though.

There are Two potential classes

Roadgoing Specialist Production - basically road legal kit and low volume production cars, basic safety kit only required, but currently in the North West you need a windscreen
This is where Ali f27 is quite correctly trying to end up

Or

Modified Specialist production - non road legal, so slicks and much more heavily modified cars, BUT you need a better cage and more enhanced safety kit.
Can be done with a road car but it's tricky and you'll get mullered..

Though as per the above the north west 'thing' about screens in road going is apparently up for discussion (some venue's already don't insisit on it for their events - Loton Park for one)

But saying all that a screen for a Westfield would be much much cheaper than the cage and 6 point harnesses for Mod Prod in any case?

Hi

The nortwest clubs have added a class to Road Going Specialaist Production - new class is 2D, basically any road going specalist production car that for whatever reason can't run in 2A, 2B or 2C..
So if you haven't got a screen this will work for you
