Has anyone got 4 point harnesses with the quick release style buckle (not the normal puch button) on their car and passed the SVA test with them?
I'd like to buy the "real deal" race style harnesses but I'm not sure they will pass the SVA.
Any ideas?
Not sure about the SVA but I failed an MOT with my XR2000 for having those race style releases on my harnesses. Had to replace them with ones with a
'conventional' fastening like you have on normal seatbelts. Would guess it'd be the same for a Locost?

The harnesses have to be the CHEAP push button type un doable with one hand and E marked
That's odd. I've got a Sparco 3" seatbelt I ripped from my sol and intend to use it in my locost.
I'd figure these would be Ok since they're much safer. Un flip of the lever and you're out of the car in a couple of seconds.
I bet they're even safer than push button types.
just a point on full harness's, when you order them ask for the lap straps to be reversed, otherwise the bit you pull to get them tight is down by the anchor point hidden by the seat
Can we ban pics of westfields
Yes, ban em
Ah man.... I love that pic!
The leaves flying buy, the low angle shot, then sevens (yeah yeah... Westfields).
Screw you guys... I'm keeping it. Just imagine it's a Locost instead

Yep i agree the pic is good, just a shame its a teiwfsdel(you see,i cant even say it)
By the way, would you like gregg and lennox back as i'm sure they are canadian.
Yeah sure. I'd like from as many people as I can find. if they're Canadian too then they might help me in Canadian specific areas like sourcing parts
around here, Legal issues etc.
I've already contacted a locost builder in my area named Ron. I posted a link to his page in another topic on this board.
Thanks for the help. you got their e-mail addresses?

If your harness is OK,whats the legal situation regarding the finished aticle over there?.Is it like our single vehicle approval scheme?
I have no idea. That's why I need to get in touch with some Canadian locost builders. But from what I've seen Ron has a 4 point in his locost
(Click here) and it's street legal.
What I do know is that when buying a used car we're required to have it certified by a mechanic. I have no idea what else is required for a home
built.
When I had the 4 point in my sol (that's 3rd gen CRX for you UK guys) I also had my stock seatbelt that I'd used on the street and then just switch
over to the 4 point at the track. So I technically had no legal issues back then.
