Cleaning gel coat

I've got a get coated nose cone for my indy that was wrapped in yellow. I've peeled the body wrap of but it has left a lot of glue behind. Any surgestions as the best thing to use to remove it .

Acetone will clean it and won't damage the gelocoat. Just avoid pools of solvent!

Check the Mrs has the proper stuff, not the substitute!

Look for a product called "Sticky Stuff Remover" very save to use and effective. Acetone must be removed immediately or it will attack the gel coat. I know

dont allow it to pool, and you should be fine using gelcoat on a cured gelcoat surface.... allow it to sit in pools (or equivalenty with a saturated cloth left on top) and it can soften the gelcoat.

If you want to do it by the book, then get some styrene (the solvent that is in gelocoat/resin).

Beat me to it - Sticky Stuff Remover is fine stuff for removing all sorts of non-permanent glue (labels, etc). Nice smell too - vaguely of oranges (I think it has orange something or other in the ingredients).

I wouldn't use acetone, you can clean used resin brushes in it!
