So I have the engine out to fix the gearbox leak and thought I should fix a few other issues or not so much issues but niggles... One thing I
don't have is OCD at home but on the car I like things to be just so... Chassis was hot zinc sprayed then ral7024 two packed.. All the panels
were riveted on but I used a silicone bead between the panels and the chassis because I could not find PU in the 7024 grey.... Anyway to the point in
the engine bay where the side panels come down and the lip is riveted to the chassis there is a stone and water trap... So I thought run a seam of
Tigerseal PU grey down the inside of each panel from the front to the footwell. Well the tigerseal is a real light grey and will I know bug me so the
question is
A. Get a life and fix something else
B. Use the tigerseal and the car OCD will probably torment me
C. Order a tube of 7024 silicone
D. Wax oil which I guess will trap more stones and moisture
Tempted to do "c"
Install a xflow
self lubricating chassis, = no rust = no problem
Is the coloured silcone prohibatively expensive?
Im quite picky, but B would do for me, it may annoy me but id rather not have the dirt trap, and not spend a fortune on looks for a largely unseen
area.
No silicone ral colour is not expensive....
Where do you get ral coloured silicone from?
A number of different places... But here is one...

I got colour match silicone from my old job, we made vinyl flooring & I found a really good match to my grey chassis :-)
I also have OCD tendencies !
I would use PU thoughout, its more important to get the right thing than the right colour, black pu looks smart...
