Rear lights, anyone mounted all in rear tub?
Rosco86 - 16/3/16 at 10:06 PM

Just looking at mounting my rear lights, I have 4 units

Reverse
Fog
Tail, stop and ind x 2

I've just been reading the iva book and it says the tail brake etc must be 400 max from the outside of the car, so this got me thinking I could mount the lights just in the rear tub, has anyone done this or would it just look weird?

Can't remember seeing it done on a full size seven type rear end,but some strikers have them like this due to the shape of rear arches.

Also iirc there is a set measurement the fog light needs to be away from the other lights?

You might struggle to get all the lights on rear tub spaced nicely/looking good?

Don't think there's enough space, here's mine some on the arches some on the tub

As has already been said...Strikers have always been like this. This is the latest demo car and passed IVA like this....I have better pictures at home but I am not at home so found this one on the web.

Look good on that striker

Not sure how they will look on a normal seven type car though, suppose it depends on size of the lights

No, I fitted mine to the rear tub and arches. Passed SVA OK at the time. IIRC there are rules on distance from the outermost edges of the car to the lights so it may be worth checking the now IVA rules first before cutting holes in the rear tub.
