I'm currently fitting my bonnet (Haynes roadster) and would like to know and if you have pics available that would greatly help, of the trim /
seal people have used, I don't like the look of the U trim that slots onto the bonnet, I would prefer a seat type rubber or neoprene that sits on
the recess of nose/scuttle, but I'm open to see what others have used
If you have images/links to products that would be a great help 😃
Thanks chris
I used the Tadpole extrusion normally used to seal the rear arch. http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/p-1805-rubber-extrusion.aspx
Description
When I built my MK Indy with GRP bodywork, both the nosecone and scuttle had recesses into which the GRP bonnet sat. I was happy with that and didn't fit anything in the gap. Looking at you avatar you maybe have a sheet metal bonnet? Even so I'd have thought you nosecone and scuttle have recesses for the bonnet to sit in. If the bonnet edges are thin I may be tempted to fit some self adhesive foam strip to the underside of the bonnet edges to level things out (and maybe keep rainwater out).
just need something to stop fretting..
Neoprene sponge tape
This
sort of stuff
I think mine was 1" x 2 or 3mm great stuff

Bend a length of ally angle to shape and bolt or rivet to the scuttle and nose.
Stick the rubber tape onto this so the bonnet then sits flush.
Im having issues with this at the moment. Fitted the 3mm neoprene tape, but it makes the bonnet too hard to close, so im not sure if there is something else going on that is mis aligned.
I went el cheapo and just used self adhesive drought excluder. Did the trick just fine.
