Fuel Tank Baffle Foam to Prevent Fuel Starvation?
Stuart15 - 28/9/19 at 01:18 PM

I recently replaced my fuel tank with an MG midget one which is quite shallow and wide. I am now getting misfiring after left hand corners, leading me to believe the fuel is sloshing and exposing the outlet.

I know swirl pots are the natural route of action but I'm reluctant as i've spent a lot lately and i'm not sure how much longer i'll keep the car. I wondered what success people have had with fuel tank foam for this sort of issue?

Look forward to hearing people's experiences.

Think a swirl pot is likely to be cheaper in the long run rather than risking damage to the engine due to running weak?

Have a look at Alloy Racing Fabrications in Newark, their website has beautifully made swirl pots from £53.

What fuel level sender do you have installed?
You need a tube dip sensor, the normal swinging arm/float sensor will foul in the foam.
