Front Mudguards

I know this may seem a daft question but are mudguards actually required.

I can't find anything in the SVA. Would they be an MOT requirement?

I'm not suggesting leaving them off but just wondered.

Hi,

Have wonderd something similar myself but rather - how much of the wheel does the guard have to cover?

Im guessing like you that there must be some requirement somewhere but I couldnt find it in the articles Ive read on SVA - no actual build manual.

Im sure someone will tell us though - anyone?

I can only say, that my mate who's a mechanic/ MOT bloke said that I would get pulled by the plod for not having the front mudguards on. (I was waiting for the new one's to arrive and was still driving around in it at the time) In saying that I didn't get pulled.

Maybe a phone call is in order.

Cheers.

Seeing it is illegal to have even just a part of the wheel exposed then it is defo out of order to have no arches at all.

If all you are talking about is small add on's to the arches to stop mud being flung up in your face when turning then you dont need these.

What do you mean by mudguards?
