How have you made your side panels, two piece as per the book or one piece, shape at the front as per book or wrapped straight down to the lower rail
as supplied by stuart taylor
thanks all
Trying a one piece can always cut if later if it does not work out.
Made one side out of card board and it does not appear to be that impossible.
Keeping to the nose cone radius.
Should have made it before I fitted the front suspension brackets.
Have not found that advice in any thread.
Keep us informed.
In one piece, shaped as per the book to fit to the nosecone.
Not difficult to do - compared to back panel!! Spend a fair bit of time on getting your cardboard templates right - it will pay dividends when you
come to the final aluminium version. Don't assume one template will fit both sides (OK it should! but don't assume)
Don't be tempted to remove the plastic covering until you are nearly ready to SVA. That alu marks so easily! unless you really like Sovol
Autosol.
One piece as per book. As Baldrick says, take time with your template.
I did mine in two pieces because I wanted to try to vent out the sides like a DAX BEC. I'm not sure if I like the look yet, but at least the job
is done. Look here.
If doing a singe side AND trying to match the curvature of the nose, I can see where this will be difficult. I would certainly get the top bends done
on a brake.
