I have a nice fuel filler cap similar to this:



And it has a widjet inside that only lets you use unleaded fuel. It is a very tight fit and i was wondering if i was putting it in right. There is a circlip that i presume goes in at the bottom of the filler. Do i have to heat up the filler and freeze the widjet in order to get them on or is there a better way like hitting it with a hammer?

It sounds as if you have incompatible parts - maybe from different manufacturers. My widget slipped in and the circlip holds it firmly in place.
I would take it back to the supplier for a replacement.

Not sure you need the restricter, isn't it just for post 95 engines that must run on unleaded ???
