Hi Everyone,

I have a set of 15 inch Peugeot wheels that I would like to use. However the register on the Ford hubs is 63.4mm and the bore of the wheels 65.1mm. WhatI am looking for is a set of wheel rings so that the wheels will centre properly.

Does anyone know of a supplier of wheel rings for this combination? Any help would be gratefully accepted. Thank you.

Hi,

theyr'e called spigot rings, and any decent wheel supplier should be able to get yo them.

pretty sure you won't need them on a car as light as a locost though.

Thank you Ray. The problem is that the wheels are being centred by the wheel studs and not the wheel centres. Eccenticity even slight will cause vibration and I guess handling problems at speed. I have trawled the internet for these rings and one supplier said they are not available for this combination. Hence my Post.

The wheels on my Locost, (highcost), are ford on ford hubs, and they dont fit by a country mile, they rely on the wheel nuts to centre them, which happens on the ,(I think), 60deg flanged nuts. Assuming you have the same fitment, no problem. I definately do not get any eccentricity. And before somebody pops in that I dont have the correct wheels they are the original ones fitted to the car. i got mine off ebay when i got my wheels, small plastic rings but i think you can get them in stainless steel as well

iirc speedshack ( http://www.speedshack.co.uk/ ) have been mentioned as a supplier of spigots in the past. The last time a recall this coming up Marcus said he doesn't use them either as the cars are much lighter than the original fitment of the wheels and the wheel nuts as mentioned above centre the wheels on the studs. Marcus has done a lot of miles on his car now with no problems afaik..

Are your wheels original Peugeot alloys or aftermarket alloys of a Peugeot fitment? If they are genuine Peugeot wheels you won't get a spigot ring for them as they are a dedicated fit so are not machined to take a spigot. If they are an aftermarket wheel then you may be able to get a spigot for them unless they were also machined as a dedicated fit. If they are a dedicated fit they will have a chamfered edge around the centre bore, whereas one that is designed to accept a spigot will have a square rebate machined in it to accept a spigot. You will also need spigots from the same manufacturer as your wheels as they all tend to use different OD sizes and some use ali and some use plastic. A pic of the wheel front and back would help to clarify.

Hi Richard, Thank you for this information and everybody else who has responded to my question.

My wheels are 205GTI 1.9 alloys and this may well be why I cannot buy spigot rings to suit. I just wanted to use them because I have them. If it turns out that when the car is on the road there is a problem with vibration I'll just have to shell out on the correct wheels for the job.
