That looks very bling Omega - where did you get it? - I am in the market for something like that and was thinking about making a mould.
hi mike,
(car looked very good at stoneliegh by the way)
i got the diffuser off a fellow DAX Rush owner, the diffuser is the one that are made for Westfields, you can buy them from their website i think.
now my question? does anyone where i can get my hands on a pair of carbon fibre front cycle wings? i think westfireld do some but i havent seen any

I saw a pair of carbon fibre front wings at Detling - SVC stand of all places. I think they may have been fake carbon though
You haven't got a link for the diffuser by any chance? - I checked the Westy site and no mention of a diffuser anywhere. I just bought some
plywood from B&Q to make a mould but that looks as though it might be close to what I need.
Ta for the compliment by the way

if you do a search for the wing it should come up, if not may be worth a ring to westfield and ask them what they can do and for prices
hope this helps
Alex
Fluke also do these in carbon:

I have a set for sale on
ebay<

It depends what size you want as mine are 8" wide and will fit a 185 tyre.
I tried them on a 195/50/15 toyo but they just touched the sides, although toyos have fatter sidewalls to give rim protection.

I have some diffusers for sale.
They are in a carbon 'like' material with a foam core.
Ex formula cars, had some small repairs but can easily be cut and modded to suit.
They have the advantage of being wind tunnel tested and a are known to work.
email u2u or 07903 474191 if interested.
The diffuser angle is quite critical as well. The optimum angle is 9.5 deg but anything above 15 deg and the airflow will seperate along the diffuser
drastically reducing its effect.

Real Carbon fibre isn't a good material for mudguards, it is too brittle, any stones hitting the underside cause a lot of staring on the top
side.
For them to last the underside needs a couple of layers of Glass fibres as a protective layer.
Although it has a much lower tensie strength Because it is more elastic Glass fibre (and kevlar) is much better at dealing with small object impacts.
A mate of mine tried to fit one and ended up cutting more away than he started with to miss the fuel tank and axle and still have ground clearance.
I just phoned Westfield and they confirmed that they do a diffuser for the XTR2. The guy I spoke to quoted me £50 ish plus VAT which I think sounds
very reasonable.
I asked him what it was made of and he said that it was a mixture of wood & fibreglass (which suprised me somewhat)
Alex, can you confirm this?
