I'd like to think that I can solve problems but with limited experience this ones got me stumped.
The neck from the tank is about 5inches long and 65mm external diameter. The filler has a 3inch plastic connector pipe 50mm in diameter which partly
decends into the tank pipe.
I need some way of making a safe join between the two but the lack of 'gap' between the two means very little space to work.
I've considered cutting the filler pipe down to give more space but I'm still short of a suitable hose.
The other option was to extend the tank pipe up and fit a new and simpler filler cap directly to the tank pipe with no body work attachments so that
it's race legal.
Any ideas or suggestions please?
(excuse the line art it's the easiest way to see the problem)
Thanks
John

Can you use a reducer connector, Demon Tweeks do them. There is also somone on here selling silicon hose reducers, however I'm not sure that you
can use Silicon hoses for the fuel system.

Silicon hose is a no no for SVA you have to use the relevant approved hose. It will be in the manual.
65i/d Rubber hose (fuel safe) on the fuel tank long enough to reach the bottom of the filler cap flange, then make a nylon collar 50i/d 7.5mm thk. to take up the gap between the filler and the rubber hose, put a nice big jubilee clip on it and then forget about it. the sva man wont even notice it!
I have a section of hose 2" id 51 mm that will do the joiner if you want. u2 u
Thanks Pathfinder.
I've taken a 65mm pipe and made two 1" deep gaskets using the 65mm pipe by putting a vertical slice down the side and removing a few mm of
pipe so that they step down to 55mm.
All good and not as hard as I thought.
