HI All

Sure this has been asked before, but am tidying uop the body. I have a small crack, a star crack, several scratches, some bubbles in the gelcoat and the flashlines.

Presume the approach to most of these is to cut out a V with a dremel then gelcoat in - but which dremel bit? And what's the best thing for flash lines?

B&Q do a range of Dremel style tools and fittings, one of these is a little steel cutting wheel with serated teeth around the edge, its perfect for cutting along star crazing cracks.

But Don't forget to drill a very small hole at the end of the crack
Otherwise the crack will continue to grow after you've filled it with gel coat...

If the star cracks are any sort of depth, then you need to build up a couple of layers of GRP on the inside of the panel. The reason being, that the cracks also break the glass strands within the layup. If you just fill with Gel, then the cracks "can" return. HTH Ray

Oh! and I totaly disagree with ^^^ do not drill holes at the end of the cracks, if you do as above the cracks will not travel.
