Is a tilt front end worth the effort?
Dale - 10/9/07 at 03:16 PM

I am trying to decide if ataching my nose bonnet and front fenders would be worth while to give easy access to checking on front suspenstion exhaust ect. The muffler and pipes will be hidden except for the tip as well in the fender. Was just thinking it would be safer as inspections would likely be done much more often if everything is viewable easily.

I think it would be hard to keep it all rigid and in place with a fully hinged front end.

Looking good though

I vote yes. Would make engine access SOOOO much easier

I was considering doing it somewhat like a spitfire with the back underside of the wing permanatly attached and braced so the top would have something to brace/attach to.

The bonnet is origanal mgb and I am trying to do the sides of the bonnet in metal. The wings and nose are being done with just a male buck and glassed over. A skim coat of bodyfill will be required to finish them off. For only one set of parts I could not justify the costs of making molds for just one piece.
