Track day looming.. Monday!
I've run out of TigerSeal and need to stick the front cycle wings on.
Anywhere in the North East I can get a tube tomorrow??
Is the Evo tough stuff in B&Q PU??
Thanks,
Steve
can't you use gripfill?
Steve
I've got 99% of a tube left you can have for nowt. Let me check it hasn't gone off in the morning. Then I'll u2u you my number.
BTW you don't need wings to get on track at the boro!

I'm using gripfill from the local builders merchants which was around £2.50 for a tube. No idea just how it will work on the wings but couldnt
seperate two small parts myself once they had stuck.
screwfix sell it as will most building
suppliers

Steve

It won't rain. It never does at the Boro!
me under water
Geoff, that is / was JoelP in his locost, that came from Scotland with a xflow in it, turned up at Teesside with a ZX9 engine in and I think is now
bright green and belongs to someone else on here, but I can't remember who.
Mike
Geoff, sorry I couldn't answer the phone the other day, was in a meeting!
Slightly O/T but when I was on my way to my first trackday at Bedford Autodrome (about 100 miles from Sevenoaks) one wing stay broke a mile from home.
After stopping to decide what to do I unbolted the remains, stuck it on the passenger seat and drove the whole way there and back, plus the on track
bit, with only 1 cycle wing. I called it the semi-open-wheeled race look

I've had no luck with Grip fill.
Sikaflex is sold in Travis Perkins.
Tiger seal can be had in autoquip, mill autos etc etc...
PU is used by automotive glaziers to fit glass into cars, how about popping down to your local company to see what half tubes they have in the bin
I'm a great believer in not spoiling the curves of cycle wings by using bolts and swear by 'Silkaflex'.
The only trouble is that you really want to leave it a good week or two to cure properly - I used a tonne of Silkflex 5 days before a trackday and
they flew off at high speed.
Best just leaving the cycle wings off for this one and sticking them on when you're not so rushed.
Ive got a full brand new expensive tube of the special stuff autoglass use you can have Steve. Its one of those soft tubes designed for electric
caulking guns but will squeeze out OK by hand.
My local factors all sell a range of PU adhesives.
Dont use grip fill etc. i dont see how any of the no nails products can be any good in an automotive application. Ive used tiger seal to bond a Mk1
Golf GTi spat / arch on before and it came off - i only ever use good quality PU now.
Id rather go to the trackday with no arches on rather than hurriedly fitted ones - either way youll be going home in the same state. I used Wurth Bond
and Seal and left them long time before hitting the road. Took few days to fit too as i added more underneath after first lot set a bit. If applied
thick it takes a while to fully cure.

Right then, thanks for all the responds and I've decided to leave them off till after the trackday. Just need to hope it doesn't
rain....
Bike jacket and lid to keep me warm and dry!
