Anyone fitted the rear panel and rear wings by drilling and tapping the chassis rather than pop riviting?
Whats the general feeling?
thanks
Dave B
You might be able to do it with the rear panel, but i would'nt have thought you would have enough contact points to do it with the rear wings?
Why do you want to? To make them easier to change in case of crash damage?
If you don't want to drill the chassis have you considered something like Sikaflex 221? sticks like the proverbial though
You would be better using Rivnuts rather than trying to tap the chassis. I did have some with a very thin flange so they didnt sit far out from whatever they were fixed to. I just wish my Rivnut kit went up to M8 rather than M6.
I've not a single rivet or riv-nut on my car.
Everything welded, bolted or screwed.
