Has anybody made a rear ally panel when there is NO upper round bar on the car, a la MK?

Just a question, as I am about to try this in order to save myself $500 in a GRP one.

Not helpful now but I had MK weld a hoop on to allow it.

You'll need a top hoop in place to support the rear panel and to form it round as well.

Have a track about for something like an old school chair, this should donate some nice bends which assuming you do not have a welder you could bolt up into a top hoop to form the sheet against.

My car is like this, but it's not a very neat solution as you have to cut the top fold to allow you to bend the corners. I then rivetted a stiffener across the corners to hold the shape, I've just uploaded a pic into my photo archive.

Thank you everyone. I went out and spend 5 quid (I converted $10 for you - am I a nice guy or what?) on a 6 ' length of ally tube which I bent to shape (it ended up a fraction wider than the frame but it shouldn't be noticeable) and slid into the chassis rail (by the roll bar. It seems to hold in place because my roll bar stays are in just the right spot so I won't slide down. I will sikaflex and self tap screw into place and start ally bending!

Unfortunately it is complicated further by the fact that I could not get a large sheet of ally into the car, so I have to do it in three parts.

That pic in the archives really shows what a good job you've done. I plan on a tonneau a la cateringvan anyways so if it's a bit rough on the upper part I don't car.
