Should I swap Ins Co this year?
snippy - 24/4/12 at 09:02 AM

I have been with Adrian Flux since 2006 and this years renewal is £184. I rang Sureterm who will do me a better policy for £139. Thats a big saving. I`ve rang Together Ins several times but no one ever answers the phones and I`m sick of listening to their recorded messages and music so they`ve lost my business. I rang Flux back to tell them I`m leaving and guess what, miraculously they can match Sure terms quote! Why don`t these companies just send us a competitive quote in the first place to avoid all this nonsense every year?
So, do I stick with Flux or move to Sure term? Never had the need to put in a claim. Any opinions?

Personaly I wouldn't touch Flux with a barge pole, had trouble with them years ago, and only got it resolved by going to the ombudsman. I know nothing regarding Sureterm, and even less about Together. Cheers Ray

I've used 2gether for my last three "specialist" vehicles - A Locost, A 944 and now a Defender.

I've always got straight through to someone who's been really helpful compared to other insurers and never had and of the reported "documentation" errors. I do generally ask for a read back on key details.

At the end of the day most insurers that we are likely to deal with are simply brokers. Most policies I have been sold on specialist vehicles over the last ten years have been with only three underwriters. The main one being Highway.

The price they charge you comprises - Actual cost price of cover + insurance tax + breakdown and extras that you may opt for. The rest is simply profit and it's easily calculated from the information stated on the documentation you receive normally.

Frank Pickles had a few positive comments in a recent thread.

Ive just insured my Indy with Frank Pickles for £113. Seconds to get an instant online quote and straight through on the phone to give the quote number and debit card details. The paperwork was emailled through as a set of pdf docs within 45 mins. I'd also followed ToGether Insurance who also seemed very good but happenned to be £ 20 more for the same underwriter.

The speed of processing was very handy as I needed to drive to a pre booked MOT test.

i had to drive over to 2gethers office to sort my insurance out last wednesday and every year i get missing documents and angry letters from them.

however the insurance was cheap.

This is my second year with frank pickles and a fully comp 3k mile policy was just a tad over £100. They have been great so far and the non-fault claim last year went like clockwork.
