Turboflame Lighters (not just for ciggies)
flak monkey - 31/10/05 at 06:14 PM

My mate has just bought me one of these for my birthday. At first I thought, 'oh how nice a lighter'...then I played with it...

What excellent little contraptions they are!

Stupidly hot (1300degC) and concentrated flame. Can be used for soldering, cutting ropes, melting just about anything etc Besides the normal uses of lighters.

There is a bit about them here:

Awesome

how heavy is it. I keep thinking of getting one for camping but don't want something that weighs a tonne (metric or imperial!)

Its made of thick ali, which it what makes them so indestructable.

Prob weighs about 100-150g. At a guess. I have no scales to weigh it on!

Heres a lil pic. As you can see they arent very big. Rescued attachment Image003.jpg

Very clever, but the Humunga Tongue is much funnier.

I have quite a few of these already they pressurise a standard lighter and come out like little jet flames...

This one looks a bit safer to use, might be better for my bar-b lighting
