does anyone know anything about these engines?
all i know is its 1300cc and needs a bit more grunt

they also came in a 4EFTE in the starlet turbo.... but if worked hard in turbo form they broke cranks.

Basically the same as anything else, they usually can do with quite a bit of work in the head blending the port to the back of the valve seat (you'll see when you get a valve out)
There are also 5EFE's here that 1500cc that you might be able to import.
