Actually, the wheels are a solid 'chocolate' brown and the cage is a new Mini metallic.

Don't race it (can't believe I said that ) it would make an awesome sleeper.

Can you fit one of these on the back?

That is still the plan Joe. There is a significant temptation to IVA it though.

Lad doing well thanks; you're a born-again Dad too aren't you? All good?

That's genius. Yes, I could - wicker isn't that heavy too - and who doesn't like a picnic?

adithorp - 8/12/14 at 10:36 AM

...but would it fall foul of the RGB aero regs'?

While you're about it, clamshell wings and leather bonnet straps would sit nicely as well.

TimC - 8/12/14 at 11:22 AM

Clamshell wings are N/A

Leather bonnet straps are a given though - I've already bought them.

The colours look good. One of Raw customers has recently rebuilt there ex-demo car (which was bright orange) and it now sports a brown chassis, blue body and black sides. Its the one on the left here

ali f27 - 19/4/15 at 09:11 AM

Yes, I saw the car at Race Retro. It really does look quite different now.

daniel mason - 19/4/15 at 10:15 AM

I think next Saturday will feel like Christmas. Last big spend will then be with Harvey hopefully before the summer is out.

lsdweb - 19/4/15 at 08:42 PM

You won't be disappointed with Harvey!

I'm using one of his boxes (left over from my single seater) on the Striker :-)

Frankly, no - you?

lsdweb - 30/6/15 at 06:46 PM

Frankly, I'm going to try! But we've just setup a new business and are in the process of starting another one so I am going to struggle to find any time!

ceebmoj - 30/6/15 at 09:11 PM

Is it ok to mount the fuel tank like that? will the brackets not fatigue over time leading to the tank leaking? I ask because if its ok then it makes my fuel tank install a lot easer.

It's a fair question. In my case, there's eight fixings - all isolated with large rubber washers - hence the loads are fairly well spread. Further, it's a race car so will be inspected roughly every hour of running. I have few worries on this front but we'll see.

looks sweet, my filter is going to stick up a bit to, but im a little worried about the forward vision of the IVA, the way to work it out is not the clearest to understand

I'm not having to consider IVA as its a race car but visibility is still quite important (and a little concerning as I'm only used to driving cycle-winged cars on-track.)

Hopefully they just fit on folks' screens.

TimC - 10/10/20 at 06:58 AM

Hello All,

I have no idea why my old images don’t appear. In any case, I thought this thread might be worth a quick update since I sort-of consider Phase 1 of the car’s development complete having been featured in CKC. It’s been a minor ambition to get a car magazine featured since I started reading Fast Car in 1996 so I guess that’s a bucket list item ticked.

I’ve also started to play around with the look - the roundels aren’t quite what I wanted - the plan was that they’d be more subtle but I used an online supplier‘s design tool so screen-to-reality was always a bit of an unknown. In any case, I think they help the cars proportions. I’m hoping that UK/Welsh Govt regs mean that my planned Silverstone GP trackday can go ahead at the end of the month and it’ll then be time to get modding for IVA. First, today, I need to replace the clutch.

Hope everyone is staying healthy and solvent at the moment. It’s bl@@dy wild times.
