the balck paint on new metal panels
what is it? If i remember rightly, its got to come off before spraying?
My mates just asked me to spray his new bonnet on his car. he knows i'm not guaranteeing results
that black paint that comes on pannels isn't primer is it? has it all got to come off, prime it then spray?
i know i should really know all this

in the years working in main dealer/ insurance aproved bodyshops we only ever course scotchbriteed or a light sand to give a key prime then colour

The black finish on most replacement car panels is electropaint usually.
This is a dip process, an electric charge is passed through component and paint, much like the reverse of the washing soda cleaning.
All mainstream production vehicles are electropainted.
