I'm half way through a hood design.
I've basically copied the Softbitsforsevens half hood.
It's coming on nicely. I made a rough pattern out of some lining material and then sewed the real thing using a hand-cranked singer sewing
machine. For the material I bought some waterproof "Ottomon" black material of the bay. For thread I've used super strong polyester
(won't rot like cotton and much stronger).
I reckon another couple of hours and it'll be finished.
At the front it attaches to the Cateringvan screen via the standard poppers. At the back I've got some rucksack type buckle connectors for
attaching / detaching the hood. These attach onto some webbing straps (with tensioners) that go down and bolt under one of the rear roll bar
supports.
No reason to suggest it won't handle legal road speeds....

I made some hard and sort doors to go with a roof for book chassis locost whilst waiting for the reg number for kit car.
I wanted to be able to lay it back on the rear panel when not in use and be able to put it up quickly.
The roll bar was not wide enough to suit so made a frame out of conduit and can extend it out to go over roll bar. It also uses the same rear pop
studs as my original rear panel cover. If you want more info let me know.Hope picture not too
