Painting bodywork

My car has already been running fine for 6 month. Now I want to paint it. Chassis has some primer in it but aluminium is only polished.

I want to use wash primer but I read that it can react with the chassis paint.

What I want to do is one coat of wash primer in the aluminium and then primer and paint everything, chassis+bodywork

The car is fully dissasembled right now ready for sandblast and prime!

What is the best option?

Thanks a lot.

Depends on what sort of paint you are looking to use over the wash primer as its used as a pretreatment before using water based paints.

Personally i'd say stick to the more conventional automotive technique and use an etch primer directly onto aluminium before conventional solvent based paints from your local paint factor etc. Etch primer is also good for additional keying to gelcoat panels after they have been scuffed with 600 wet n dry.

Any good paint factor should be able to offer you advice on exactly what you need and ensure paint compatability.
