number plate position and bonnet hinges

I must be blind cause i cant find anywhere in the SVA mannual that tells me how high etc to mount my number plates. Im sure therell be some kind of regulations about it (there is for everything else) The reason i ask at this stage is that i want to hinge my bonnet/nose behind it so the number plate will cover the hinges. like the ultralite cars a few posts before this. How has anybody else managed to hinge theres all in one? Thanks, Andrew.
