How wobbly is yours ?
Looked at fixing mirrors this weekend and used an existing hole in the scuttle to mount them ( well drivers side ) only to find that it wobbles like
hell and is next to useless when driving down the road. I have put a big penny washer on the inside of the fibreglass but I think the first time I try
to adjust the mirror it will just flex the scuttle 
How do others do it ?
Do they all vibrate so much ?
How about passing it through the scuttle and attaching to a bracket welded to the chassis / scuttle rail ?
Ideas please

What's your scuttle made of - GRP or ally?
What mirrors have you got - single bolt fixing?
My CBR type mirrors mounted on a GRP scuttle were solid as a rock, but the base was quite large and fixes with 2 bolts approx. 50mm apart.

can you not just bond a bent plate of aluminium to the inside with some epoxy glue?
Fame is when your old car is plastered all over the internet

i bonded an aluminium plate to the inside of my GRP scuttle to help with strength, it seems to work fine

I did mine using body filler to bond the plate and it was rock solid. Make the plate plenty large enough, about 3" square and it will push into
place to form it then spread the filler on it and whack it back in.

I used some rather chunky fibreglass woven matt and some carbon tows, all held in place with some west system epoxy. The side of my scuttle is now
bullet proof

I have the SPA type mirrors mounted throught the fibreglass with two 5mm bolts about 40mm apart. The mirrors are solid but the car and driver shake
like a shitting dog....

We used an aluminium spreader plate on the inside of the scuttle bonded with PU adhesive to give the mirrors some stability.

I did as Hellfire, but put a plate on the outside too, a scuttle sandwich. Since I fitted the screen though, they're mounted on the uprights,
solid as a very solid thingy.
