Cycle wing - tyre clearance
What sort of gap do people leave between the tyre & the underside of the cycle wing when bending the brackets? I checked IVA but nothing
specified.

Mine is about 1" - enough that any flexing in the brackets doesn't lead to contact...

I agree, set mine at 1", no problems so far, now nearly 7K miles. Cheers Ray

just make sure you can remove the wheel with the arch in place and you should be fine

Mmm Its a bit tedious if its too close. Looks the mutts nuts if the diameter matches the wheel but otherwise its a nutache to take the wheels
off....ps NMSR
25 mm is plenty.

From the inside of my cycle wings to the tyre, is exactly a tennis ball, guess what i tapped to my tyres when i bent the brackets

Mines around 8-10mm and is fine
i do however have to jiggle the wheel to get it off though !!

Thanks I'll have a go at bending tonight. Got all my shiny new cable bits thru from venhill today so in for a busy evening.

Another one at 8-10mm [you can hear stones rattling around between the guard and the tyre] - but I have to take the guards off to remove the tyres
because the sides of the guards are deep.

10 mm, but I haven't gone anywhere yet, so no practical road report as yet.

IIR I used a bit of 1.5" x 1" Stick as a gauge, so vote for 1" or 25mm
Scot's do it better in Kilts.
MK INDY's Don't Self Centre Regardless of MK Setting !

Mine is only about 2mm on the outside edge, there has been no contact with the tyre and the 17" wheel comes off ok.

I stuck some 1/2" hose to the tyre and rested the arches on that to get a good idea where I wanted the brackets. The wheels just come off, but
It's close.
