Wing stay bolt
Hi,
im after a longer bolt to fix my wing stay on - original as pic. Reason being is ive had them welded up over winter as they snapped but to strengthen
i have had to build the stay out near to the fixing point. Does anybody know what size this bolt so i can order one online. Its to fix stay on a
Avon (cortina uprights)

I'd say M8x60, but it could be M10x60. Just measure the diameter.

More like M10, do you not have a set of verniers about?

sorry not up to scratch on my bolt sizes - verniers??
measuring the width of the bolt is 8mm so assume that means an M8?
I feel i may be being rather thick here!

what size spanner does it take?
13mm M8 17mm M10
Looks 13mm to me so M8 x 60. Do they need to be the same length? I may have aload of them kicking about but may be allen key head.

i think its an m8 x 70
just ordered a few off the bay for a couple of quid so hopefully they will do the job!

Cortina uprights used an 8mm thread as standard.

That bolt is a m8 x 60 mm
you measure from under the bolt head to the end
Do not include the head

cheers people - ive gone for a longer 70mm bolt to allow for the welding - hopefully that will dio the job!

received today and goes in a treat - just hope the wing stay lasts for a few miles!
