Door bulges

I am trying to make doors for my Locost and I need to allow some extra room for my arm and elbow. How do you guys bulge out the door area? My door frames will be made from 6.5mm steel wire and 3mmx25mm steel flat. I will then cover it with marine vinyl and have a clear vinyl window. Also how do you guys attach the vinyl to the frame? Thanks in advance, Russ

Vinyl glues quite nicely with evostick type glues (but make sure you test it first to make sure it doens't dissolve it). An easy way to do it is to flare the bottom of the door out near the rear of the cockpit.

Hope you've got a demister. A screen and doors is a good way to ensure year round misting up problems

I made my half doors from ali sheet. The bottom is bent to form an elbow rest. If you are using wire for the frame you could make a similar shape and stretch the vinyl over it.

See here for what I did.

Cheers

Simon

There's some instructions from smart51, or inspiration for making some grp/cf ones.
