Side panel Help.

so im making my side panels from 1.2mm alli. and its not easy. i have finished one side and its not fun.

im thinking of covering with fibreglass or something to make it smooth and nice looking.

what do people suggest?

Book car ? Ive got a set of Gts panther sides on mine.

Are you using the correct grade of ali?

If you use stuff that's too hard then it will be more difficult.

I can't remember the grades now (did mine 4 years ago!) but it was soft enough that I bent over the top and bottom 1" just using a rubber mallet and it all looks really flat and very pleased with it.

Did you clamp the sheet to the car? Make sure you clamp wood or steel to the out side of the ali as well so that the ali is trapped in place.

need half hard ali worked for me in 1.5mm used book method rubber hammer and bits of wood clamps.. Just go slowly little bit at a time across the whole fold.....

ill have another go then! just struggle with the folds looks looking good. ill get a bigger rubber hammer.
