Painting stainless radiator surround
Hi
I have a stainless radiator surround for the Falcon and normally it would be polished chrome like but it's not, rather it looks as awesomely
shiny as a Delorean Have spent quite a while with the old polishing kit, which tbh I just can’t be arsed with any more so instead for now I’m
just going to spray it red like the rest of the car till it bothers me and I some day get it done right. Saying that I see lots of old cars with
painted ones so...
Anyway what I was wondering is what kind of primer do I need for stainless?? Would red oxide work hmm not sure.
Anyone know??
Thanks

I would think an etch primer would be the only one to consider

Maybe just laquer or clear powdercoat? Shoud give a glossy easy clean finish but retain the metal look?

a good suggestion but it's all swirly like an old pot, for a while I was happy with it but now tbh I think it just makes it look like I
haven't bothered to finish it, which is right he he It has a nice shinny grill thing a bit like a morgan and they don't paint their
surrounds, I see what I looks like might change my mind
cheers
