Gelcoat.
I'm trying to get some gelcoat to do a couple of repairs but the kit provider is struggling to get me a match. Is there any way I can mix my own
from a set of base colours and does anybody have any recommendations of where to buy these from?
I appreciate there's going to be a bit of trial and error, well probably a lot of trial and error.
Or, is there a company who can mix me some if I sent them a sample piece??
Thanks in advance

I've no idea where you can get gel coat from, but I'll be able to tell you tomorrow, although I'm sure google will provide
numbers?
It is easy to mix ratio's of powders to get the desired colour too...

LR are the guys for pigment www.llewellyn-ryland.co.uk
Its best to get them to mix it if you want to avoid hours of harmless fun. The problem is you get what you think is a really good match and then it
changes colour when you catalyse it, then it changes colour again when you cut it and polish it.

I am currently trying to source a test amount of gel coat to do some repiars. I may have a company doing some for me but they are dragging their
heels.
I have been on to LR a few times. Their smallest unit is apartently 1 gallon!
If I get anywhere Ill try and update this post. Or I may just put a thanks up to the company.
Best of luck on the search,

You could cheat and mix some paint in with the resin the colour you want of cause
it may take time to get it spot on

Unfortunately I don't know the RAL number. The kit provider thought they did but the colour I got, although yellow, was a long way from the
colour I needed.
I will give Eastcoast a call tomorrow to see if they can send me a colour sheet as their RAL1016 looks close to the colour I need, at least it is from
my monitor :-/
