Rear wing protection

I want to get some of that tough clear plastic film to protect my rear wings from stone chips. I'm sure that I can get it easily enough - if only I could remember what it's called!

Can anyone give me the name of this stuff so I can go searching?

David, have a read of this read, particularly last post. Is that something you are after or looking for something thinner?

Car builders solutions (CBS) do it. Can't recall what they call it though.

ETA found it.........
linker to stone chip protection film

I fitted it to my rear arches, easy to fit and works a treat, does not add much weight as the stainless ones either. Comes with instructions.

Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

That's the stuff - the one I was thinking about came from 3M, but the wording on the CBS page says "similar to that manufactured by world the famous 3M group"

mads - I was after sommat thinner, like Slater found.

splitrivet - you'll need your coat - it's cold out there!

Cheers,
David

Yike!

I did a google search with my nice new clues, and have just found the 3M stuff - it's called Venture Shield.

Ideal, except for the price... around £35 - £40 for 300mm x 600mm, plus P&P plus VAT.

The CBS stuff starts to look attractive, at less than half the price...

Had a quick look - there's a few options available, from proper 3M stuff at a middling price through to 'unknown quality' stuff at cheap price. I'll give it some thought.

At least I know what to look for now!
