step by step guide to patching grp body work?

i made a huge mistake with my first attempt at a rear exit exhaust and drilled an 80mm hole throught the body tub of the mnr, only to find that i had to move it due to heat soak.
i have bonded a pannel to the inside or the rear tub and filled the 2-3 mm deep hole with body filler. sanded it back to a near perfect finnish but am unsure how to finnish it. i am eventually going to put a sticker over kit but want to paint it first. so how do i complete it. im guessing a coat or 2 of primer, coat or 2 of correct paint,(ral 6009) then a clear lacquer

I haven't checked Dickens' book yet (although I own it), but I have had this issue. I was afraid of discolourisation of the spot where the body filler went, so I sprayed a coat of clear over the sanded filler, sanded again, then painted. It is not perfect but it'll do. I always go by the mantra given to me by my mentor, Mr. S. Hignett, that very knowledgable chap, which says "There is good, and there is good enough".
