Aeroscreen Perspex
What type (thickness etc.) of perspex would I need to make an aeroscreen.
I am really into making things myself now that I have started doing some proper Design Technology work. They have everything needed to make one (strip
heater, perspex cutter) and I can get all the perspex I need for free!

Ideally you'd want to use polycarbonate sheet for this, reckon 4mm should be about right. This tends to be more expensive than acrylic, etc, but
won't shatter when the ineviatable stone does hit it.
I got mine here:-
www.casupply.co.uk (sorry, haven't worked out how to make that a link yet)
Item FC41075 would be ample for your needs, or if you have a local supplier then Makrolon or (I think) Lexan is what you're looking for.

Pollycarb is a lot softer than perspex and as a result you won't be able to polish the edges. If you try they'll go brown because of the
heat. It'll also scratch very easily.
Still safer than perspex in an accident though.
A bit of slapstick never hurt anyone.
