Cycle wing stays

Renewing my old cycle wings with new ones which will need new wing stays, I am eager to attempt and make my own, so before I start is there any chance I could have some advise on material to use and fixings for the actual wings...... Some pics of you'res would be nice....

That's cruel!

Although my system is near-enough 100% certain to prevent metal fatigue, it's not for the faint-hearted as it requires some lathe work. It does work though!
