Bonded body panels
Hi all
I am in the process of making a new exhaust manifold for the Locost.
Firstly I have to remove the side panel.
The rivets I can deal with no problem. But they are also bonded on tot eh chassis. On a bit of research people recommend the cheese grater approach.
Issue is there is no room for this?
Any ideas? Will heat help at all?
Cheers
Oli

My cars previous owner bonded the panels half on and half not seemingly. It wasnt a easy job at all. I ended up prising the panels off. Grinding
the residue sickerflex off and hammering the panels back into shape. I dont think theres a easy way.
When replacing the panels i havent bonded them, instead i butane sealantfrom cbs.

Could you not get the cheese wire in at the top and out at the bottom, IE cut through both lots of bonding at the same time?
Edi: Hmm, just looked at your photo's, you've got a folded edge. Perhaps a stanley knife to split that bit?
