GRP

Hi all, just a quick question, what is the best product for polishing GRP. I have been told Farecla G6 and G3, and not to use anything with silicone in it like Mer, what do you all use?

Farecla's the stuff that I use its a cutting compound formulated for use with a polishing mop, hard work by hand, finish by using a good quality grp polish, boat wax is usually good stuff, as u mention avoid silicone based jobbies. Meguiers do a range of suitable stuff for GRP, including a machine glaze.
Shug.

Why avoid the Silicone types like Mer... I have been using it for years... Am I missing something here?.
Am using it on a Ally caravan and Land Rover (once a year on the LR ).

G6 and a polisher makes for less elbow grease, any scratches can be taken out by going through the grades of wet n dry ending with something like 2000grit then use G6

Silicone polishes are fine until you come to repaint, you need to chemically clean to bodywork or you will get fisheyes galore

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
