Exhaust heat shield

I've got a lolocost exhaust silencer and am now looking for a heat shield to go with it. Does anyone know where I can get one from. All the main companies have their names on them and won't sell them because it isn't for their car. (obvious really).

Thanx for the help.
Mark

I've passed SVA with a Lolocost silencer bought at Stafford 2002. I didn't have a heat sheild fitted. It failed on noise level tho - search this site for prevoius comments. The silencer doesn't get too hot - I used to be able to put my hand on it at traffic lights to warm them towards the end of last year. The upstream exhaust pipe is another matter - burn't my leg on it last week.

Hope this helps.

Why bother to fit a heat shield anyway.

It'll only make a patterned burn mark on your leg rather than a plain one.

It also adds weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
