Rear screen
I've been asked to source / suggest a part for a W******d owner. What he is after seems reasonable and even possible to fabricate all bar a few
bits.
What he wants is a rear screen, ie a rectangular piece of perspex that fits inside the rear roll bar.
The perspex, and bit of trim around the edge is easy, but mounting it is difficult. Since he is of the school whereby you "buy" a kit car
already made, he does not want to cut holes or weld anywhere. Also the bar is chromed so this would not be ideal.
So, I am after some semi-circular clips that are preferably plated, with a rubber liner, about 2" diameter and a nut/bolt fastener.
Can anyone help??

You could make him some and then charge him a small fortune for them.
Maybe I'll just shut right up!

how about cut some slots in the perspex, about 2inches wide, one on each side at the bottom and two on the top. and then buy some velcro that'll
wrap around the rollbar? Easy to attach and remove. I reckon it'll be strong enough to stand upto the buffeting. Cheap and easy too.

What colour's the car?.
You could drill the perspex and use some colour coded tie wraps (big ones) or sikaflex it in place. Don't forget to double the price though or
he'll feel cheated.
yours, Pete.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

How ever its fixed it should slow the car down by a good few mph
I take it he wants it to stop all that naughty wind blowing hos centre parting out of position? Rather than perspex why not use a fine mesh, it will
cut down on wind resistance

Thanks for all the replies. I have also been looking for someone to etch "Caterham" into the perspex . ..
