What happens when you try to make a Caterham fuel efficient...
Impressively it got over 100mpg but its fugly!!!! My eyes, my eyes, my beautiful eyes....
Each to their own but I prefer running low 20s MPG with my motor....

Apparantly the insurgents in Afghanastan have started driving Duttons because they crack the lenses on the surveillance satellites

That cars seems to sum up what the aerodynamasists? [sic] have been saying on here about 7's.
Narrow tyres means narrow cycle wings at the front. Sort the rear arches out. Cover as much of the cockpit / boot as possible.

Reminds me of my old Mallock MK14 Clubmans car. The "special" I'm building will look very similar.

thats what happens when aerodynamicists bodge changes to the car and take no account of styling. If you took the time to make parts with compound
curves rather than just adding on blocks, it would look better.
as well as better MPG, the top speed should be good too.

Actually, although it looks odd, I do think that it's nearly there...
A bit of tweaking, a better choice of colour scheme, and it should be interesting.

There is a guy on the Locostusa.com Try to do the high mpg version of the locost with sidepods enclosed front fenders ect.

Aerodynamicists will always prefer to work in curves than blocks because it's better for the airflow. When they haven't done it's
normally because either styling or manufacturing demands have dictated otherwise. We like pretty cars too, y'know!

The Caterham isnt that bad. Its probs the colours that make the iffy aero bits stand out more. Some variation on the styling would make it more
acceptable. I fear the styling isnt the only reason it got 100mpg though. I wonder if a 50mpg version would look nicer?
I know mpg isnt the reason we build these cars but it would be nice to see 40 on a run.
