painting all pannels
my car has the following :
nose : fibreglass, painted
scuttle : fibreglass, painted
bonnet, sides & rear : ally, vinyl wrapped in yellow to match.
what i want to do is have it all painted, actually in ford focus ST orange. What problems may i come across trying to do this & has anyone done
similar after their car is built & running?
thanks in advance
Mark

i painted all mine be for hand whith did make things easyer the main prob will just be things in the way like shocks and arms and other such bits so
eather remove them or some good masking up is needed.and really the alloy pannels just need preping real well and a good etch prima to get things to
stick,at work we use a one pack upol etch thats good stuff then prime up and flat and colour as you would norm.also on our paint skeam at work the st
orang is a 3 stage colour to get the effect but i do now some others its not i hop this helps you out thanks phil

Yup. Upol etch primer is damn good stuff. Pretty evil if you inhale it (it is called Acid etch after all!!) but good nonetheless.....
Considering the cost of a cheap HVLP setup it seems a shame to hand-paint....
