Exhaust Can Fitting

I have fitted a larger exhaust can with cat to my MK to reduce the noise level it failed SVA on previously. This has worked but due to the positioning of this silencer the tail pipe now protrudes out the side of the car about 20-30mm out from the rear wheel. Will this be acceptable for the re-test. Cheers, Barry

Don't know but i have my re-test tomorrow afternoon so will ask them if they think it's an issue.

Shouldn't be, but be aware that this then becomes the widest point, so your light positions might need tweaking....

Can you rotate the can, so the outlet either points up in the air, or down at the ground?

Ask him to test the noise first though, as I'm sure someone on here noticed a significant increase in noise when the outlet was pointed at the road surface, something about the sound waves bouncing back and being amplified / multiplied?

Mike
