scratch removal from glass

hi
i have a windscreen with wiper marks.
has anyone successfully removed these with an angle grinder, mop & abrasive/polish?
if so what did you use?

Ive used jewelers rouge to remove scratches from double glazed windows. using a sisal mop I suppose a polisher on a grinder will have the same effect

I did that for wiper gouges on my first car.
does the job but it did leave a strip of clearer glass fdue to removal of what I can only guess is dirty glass at the surface.
