BM7 possible design

Had a little go at puttin pencil to paper earlier and came up with this.

I wanted to do something different than the standard 7, but retaining the 7 shape ish. So im toying with the idea of a bit of a lip at the front (bit like chippys), and a quarter circle step on the bonnet and nose cone. But left on the scuttle so it serves as a bit of vent for under bonnet.

The bottom left picture shows a bit more detail around the scuttle/bonnet area, the scuttle will efectively "hang over" the edge of the chassis by 2 inchs, it will probably be meshed, but wont serve any purpose.

The top right picture shows the rear. I want the Rear wings to be chopped at an angle higher than normal, so you can see the tyre. Also have the light mounting section flat, so it adds some extra lines. Also as opposed to having a curved rear section, itll be 45 degrees angles at the edges.

Cant really say much more about it... so here it is... all criticism welcome.

sorry about the quality, had to take a picture of the paper with my phone as i have no scanner here.

There are a few like this on the USA site. They use the side pods for a combination of extra space and venting

Looks good - you may be able to disguise some extra chassis width in the step in the side

I know this is going to come across rather blunt, but it looks just like a bog-standard 7 rep to me.

whats your plan for the exhaust? might look a bit funny by the stepped side vents (which themselves look really cool) as after its past the vent, i might be quite far from the side of the car?

Does the Dax Rush not have a similar side-vent arrangement?

yeh the dax does have similar, its them that made me think about doing it.

The plan was to run the exhaust pipe quite close to the stepped out bit. The parrallel back, so the actually silencer will only be about 2 inches from the side panel.

well everything sounds positive so ar, cheers guys. Another thought was to have the exhaust silencer being angled slightly so that outlet is close to the edge of the rear wing. but then it might be tricky me getting in and out (exhaust is on the drivers side).

Im using an R1 can, so i think ill hae it parrallel with the side panel with a big 90bend on so the outlet is still on the edge of the rear wing

another vote for the side vents.personal opinion of course but i saw them on a bec dax i think and they really break up the slab side appearance especially if its one colour,or not a v engine with only an exhaust on one side, thats why i made mine! must help with the cooling/airflow out of the bay too cause you could quite easily dry my birds hair, behind them once the rad fan kicks in too!got another in my scuttle to,for the wiper arms really, but that too dries raindrops on the screen when the turbo's a nice shade of orange!differents not everyones taste but who care's as long as you like it.

Used an R1 can on mine (modded with 90 degree outlet), with the flared side fits in with the exhaust very well even with an inline cat.
