Is this worth spending some more time on - opinions
This is the bumper grille cut out of a passing Chrysler PT Cruiser (known as the ant hill mob car in bodyshops!)
Is it thumbs up - give it a couple of hours
Or chuck it in the bin?

A bit of filling and a coat of paint so it looks like it belongs, could be worth a try.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Looks a bit "heavy", as in Yank tank, rather than light sports car.

Jason,
I always involve you lot in my build, it half the fun. Lots of other useful info comes out of every thread, stuff you haven't thought of,
warnings about stuff that can go wrong from those who learnt the hard way
The other reason is that I cannot decide if I love it or hate it - it's going in the 'Sort Out Later' bin for the moment!

Looks too heavy for my taste. I found something that I like that I may try. Industrial grating that goes as the lense for 2x4 foot floresent lights
its about 3/4 inch squares of plastic all with the chrome finish. I thought a few coats of clearcoat overtop may make it last.

Alan i think you like the grill so put it in.
The Chrysler boys certainly have spend loads of money in the design of this grill and you can bet your life on it that it has much better airflow
charac.that any sort of mesh grill.
Some of the Italian vintage racecars had similar grills.

Funnily enough, I was also considering making a shark nose style separator, a bit like the '50's Ferrari's

Sorry, didn't want to upset, but thought you need to be pleased with it, more than building it for other people to like the look of !
Hey I'm thinking of using a front bumper to avoid certain SVA tests, but i wouldn't ask people on here, I know what they would all say
about it ( cos i would probably say the same )

FWIW, i think it could work if smoothed out well. I may look into something similar myself, in the interests of an easier pass!

Jason,
Don't worry, you didn't upset me, I am not convinced about it myself yet! Its just one of many options I am leaving open

OK then, FWIW I quite like it. Sure it looks a bit 'heavy' but I prefer 'agressive'.
Give it a go you can always change it.
Detailing the car is the fun part anyway.
Go on, dare to be different....

I think it looks good.
Look at it the other way - a std locost front - especially with the barbecue grill, looks cack. Its basically an open hole with no style at all.
Id certainly give it a go mark - you can always to to b and q and give it the hampster cage look from a cheap barbie if you need to.

ps
looks crap in red
